Welcome to RideEco! These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our carpooling platform. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to comply with these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using RideEco, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, as well as our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our services.
2. Service Description
RideEco is a technology platform that connects drivers with available seats in their vehicles to passengers seeking rides. RideEco is NOT a transportation provider, taxi service, or motor carrier. We do not provide transportation services; we facilitate connections between independent users.
RideEco does not employ drivers and is not responsible for the actions of drivers or passengers using the platform.
3. User Accounts
Account Registration:
• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
• You must provide accurate, complete, and current information
• One person per account—sharing accounts is prohibited
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
Account Verification:
• All users must verify their identity through government-issued ID
• Drivers must additionally verify their driver's license, vehicle information, and insurance
Account Security:
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access
• RideEco is not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of your account
4. User Responsibilities
Driver Responsibilities:
• Maintain a valid driver's license and comply with all traffic laws
• Ensure your vehicle is safe, properly maintained, and insured
• Provide accurate vehicle information and arrival times
• Be punctual and courteous to passengers
• Do not engage in reckless or dangerous driving
• Do not transport illegal items or substances
Passenger Responsibilities:
• Be ready at the pickup location at the agreed time
• Treat drivers and their vehicles with respect
• Pay the agreed fare promptly
• Do not bring prohibited items (illegal substances, weapons, unrestrained pets without prior agreement)
• Follow driver instructions regarding vehicle rules
Prohibited Activities (applies to all users):
• Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior
• Fraudulent activity or misrepresentation
• Attempting to bypass or manipulate the platform
• Using the service for illegal purposes
• Violating the rights of others
5. Booking and Cancellation
Booking:
• Bookings are confirmed when both driver and passenger agree to the trip
• Trip details (pickup location, destination, time, price) are binding once confirmed
Cancellation Policy:
• Cancellations more than 2 hours before the trip: No fee
• Cancellations within 2 hours of the trip: Cancellation fee may apply
• Cancellations within 30 minutes or no-shows: Full fare may be charged
Driver or Passenger No-Show:
• If a driver or passenger fails to appear without cancellation, they may be subject to penalties or account suspension
6. Payment Terms
Pricing:
• Drivers set prices for their trips within RideEco's recommended range
• All prices are displayed in the local currency and include applicable taxes
• RideEco may charge a service fee, which is disclosed before booking confirmation
Payment Methods:
• Accepted payment methods include cash, credit/debit cards, and in-app payment
• Payment processors may charge additional fees
Refunds:
• Refunds are processed in accordance with our cancellation policy
• Disputes must be reported within 48 hours of the trip
• RideEco reserves the right to make final determinations on refund requests
7. Ratings and Reviews
• Users can rate and review each other after completed trips
• Ratings must be honest and based on actual experiences
• RideEco reserves the right to remove reviews that violate our policies (offensive language, false claims, etc.)
• Persistent low ratings may result in account suspension or termination
8. Safety and Conduct
RideEco is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful community. We enforce a strict code of conduct:
• Zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, or violence
• No use of alcohol or drugs while driving or immediately before
• All parties must comply with local laws and regulations
• Drivers must maintain appropriate insurance coverage
Violations may result in:
• Warning
• Temporary suspension
• Permanent account termination
• Reporting to law enforcement when applicable
9. Liability and Disclaimers
Limitation of Liability:
• RideEco is a platform connecting users; we are NOT responsible for the actions, behavior, or negligence of drivers or passengers
• Drivers are independent contractors, not employees of RideEco
• Users participate in carpooling at their own risk
• RideEco is not liable for accidents, injuries, property damage, or losses incurred during trips
Insurance:
• Drivers are responsible for maintaining adequate insurance coverage for their vehicles and passengers
• RideEco does not provide insurance coverage for trips
• Passengers should verify that drivers have appropriate insurance
No Warranty:
• The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
• We do not warrant the accuracy of user-provided information
10. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, logos, and intellectual property on the RideEco platform are owned by RideEco or our licensors. You may not:
• Copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission
• Use our trademarks or branding without authorization
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code from our platform
11. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute:
• Contact customer support at [email protected] to attempt resolution
• If unresolved, disputes will be subject to binding arbitration under Canadian law
• Class action lawsuits are waived; disputes must be brought individually
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Canada. Any legal actions or proceedings related to your use of RideEco will be brought exclusively in Canadian courts.
13. Changes to Terms
RideEco reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
14. Account Termination
RideEco reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion for:
• Violation of these Terms and Conditions
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abusive or unsafe behavior
• Persistent low ratings or negative feedback
You may also delete your account at any time through the app or by contacting support.
