Account Deletion

At RideEco, you have the right to delete your account and associated personal data at any time. This page explains the account deletion process, what data is removed, and what information we may retain for legal or safety reasons.

1. Your Right to Delete Your Account

As a RideEco user, you have the right to request the deletion of your account and personal data in accordance with GDPR, PIPEDA, and other applicable privacy laws. We respect your privacy and make the deletion process straightforward and transparent.

2. Before You Delete Your Account

Please consider the following before proceeding with account deletion: Consequences of Deletion: • You will lose access to your RideEco account and all associated data • Your trip history, ratings, and reviews will be permanently removed • Any unused credits or refunds will be forfeited (please contact support to resolve outstanding balances first) • You will no longer be able to book or offer rides through RideEco Alternative: Account Deactivation: • If you want a temporary break, consider deactivating your account instead • Deactivation hides your profile without deleting your data • You can reactivate your account at any time by logging back in Outstanding Obligations: • Complete or cancel any pending rides before deletion • Settle any outstanding payments or disputes • Retrieve any personal belongings left in vehicles

3. What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following information will be permanently removed from our active systems: • Personal profile information (name, email, phone number, photo) • Government-issued ID and verification documents • Driver's license information (for drivers) • Vehicle details and insurance information (for drivers) • Payment methods (credit/debit card information) • Trip history and location data • Ratings and reviews (both given and received) • In-app messages and communications • Preferences and settings Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you wish to use RideEco in the future, you will need to create a new account.

4. What We Retain (Legal and Safety Requirements)

Certain information must be retained for legal, regulatory, or safety reasons: Transaction Records (7 years): • Financial transaction history is retained for tax compliance and accounting purposes • Required by Canadian tax law and international financial regulations • Personal identifiers are anonymized where possible Safety and Security Reports: • Incident reports, safety investigations, and fraud prevention data may be retained • Used to protect the safety of the RideEco community • Retained for up to 7 years or as required by law Legal Compliance Data: • Information subject to legal holds, ongoing investigations, or court orders • Data necessary to defend legal claims or comply with law enforcement requests Anonymized Analytics Data: • Aggregated, non-identifiable data used for platform analytics and improvements • This data cannot be traced back to you and is retained indefinitely Backup Systems: • Deleted data may persist in backup systems for up to 90 days before permanent removal • Backup data is not accessible for operational use and is securely stored

5. How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your RideEco account using one of the following methods: Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended) 1. Open the RideEco app and log in to your account 2. Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account 3. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm deletion 4. You may be asked to verify your identity (password, security questions, or verification code) 5. Confirm your understanding of the consequences and proceed with deletion Method 2: Email Request 1. Send an email to [email protected] from your registered email address 2. Subject Line: "Account Deletion Request" 3. Include: Your full name, registered email, and phone number 4. Verify your identity by responding to our confirmation email 5. We will process your request within 30 days Verification: • For security purposes, we will verify your identity before processing deletion requests • This protects against unauthorized deletion of your account by third parties

6. Processing Timeframe

Account Deletion Timeline: • In-App Deletion: Immediate account deactivation; full deletion within 30 days • Email Request: Processed within 30 days of identity verification What Happens During Processing: • Your account will be immediately deactivated (you cannot log in or access services) • Your profile will be hidden from other users • Personal data will be systematically removed from our active databases • Backup systems will be updated within 90 days Delays: • If there are pending rides, disputes, or legal issues, deletion may be delayed until resolution • We will notify you if additional time is needed and explain the reason

7. After Deletion

Once your account is deleted: Confirmation: • You will receive a confirmation email when the deletion process is complete • This confirms that your personal data has been removed from active systems Re-Registration: • If you change your mind, you can create a new account at any time • Your previous data will not be restored; you will start with a clean account • Previous ratings, reviews, and trip history will not be transferred Marketing Communications: • If you previously subscribed to marketing emails, you will be automatically unsubscribed • You will no longer receive promotional content from RideEco
